Our letter to expectant mothers

Dear friend (hopefully soon to be family),

We can’t imagine the whirlwind of emotions you must be experiencing right now. We imagine you’re faced with a lot of anxiety, fear, and uncertainty. We want you to know your feelings are valid, and while we can’t relieve all of those feelings, we’re hoping we can help a little.

There are a few things we want to promise you. First and foremost: if you choose to place your baby with us, we promise to fiercely cherish and love that baby, continually striving to protect them, provide for them, encourage them, and give them every chance at a stable and secure life. We promise to continue educating ourselves, ensuring your baby’s happiness, and our success at being the best adoptive parents we can be.

Secondly, we want to promise you that however you choose to move forward, whether that’s with an open or closed adoption, we will honor, respect, and abide by your decision. We want you to know; however, we would love to remain in your life, and for you to remain in ours.

Thirdly, we promise you that everything is going to be okay. I know it doesn’t feel possible right now, but things are going to work out.

You and your baby are in our thoughts and prayers.

With all the love and respect in the world,

Joseph and Kenna Orgill
